Native to India, the Amla Fruit, also known as the Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica) is known for its exceptionally high concentration of Vitamin C. Its flavour reflects this, with a complex, intensely sour, bitter and astringent flavor profile. For this reason it is usually either encapsulated, or used in a blended powder application with other sweeter fruit, to make smoothies, juices or teas.
